Skin Tags/Acrochordon/ Fibroepithelial polyps/ Papillomas
These are the benign neoplasms of the skin, very common, often associated with obesity. These small tags are frequently a nuisance for individuals, typically developing around the neck, axilla, and groin areas.
It is commonly seen in 40-50% of the population and generally associated with insulin resistance & obesity, Many of the times it is associated with acanthosis nigricans.
If cosmetically undesired one can go for the following modalities to treat them.
Snip excision (with scissors) /
Liquid nitrogen cryotherapy /
Shave excision /
Electrocautery /
Ligation (tying a string or suture around the lesion).
