Treatments
- De-roofing. This is done by using a sterile needle or blade to remove the milia.
- Curettage. This involves, numbs the area, removes the milia, then seals the skin with a hot wire.
- Cryotherapy. Liquid nitrogen is used in this procedure to frozen off the milia.
- Minocycline. it can clear milia in some cases.
Exfoliate the skin with the help of topical retinoids, salicylic acid face wash, . Do this a minimum of three to four times a week. This will slough away all the dirt and debris that will clog the pores, leaving fresher and cleaner skin.
Use of sunscreen of at least SPF 15. Thickening of the skin will happen when the skin is exposed to daily sun. This will lead to oil and other dirt clogging the pores. When skin is too thick, it is hard to “drain” the milia, which will make it look worse on the skin.
